Who we are
The Local Hub was created by Mandy-a local wife, mom, business owner and community-first connector who believes business should feel human, not transactional.
Before launching The Local Hub, Mandy owned and ran Food on Demand for three years, building it from the ground up through trust, consistency, and a deeply supportive local community that showed up again and again for small, independent restaurants. That experience gave her firsthand insight into what actually works; real relationships, honest promotion, and showing up for people in meaningful ways.
For more than a decade, Mandy has also worked behind the scenes helping run and market her husband Jason’s construction company- supporting, branding, visibility, referrals, and community connection. She understands realities of small business ownership: long days, tight margins, wearing every hat, and balancing growth while taking care of customers and family.
Helping businesses grow isn’t something Mandy learned from a course-its something she lives and breathes.
WHY I STARTED THE LOCAL HUB
I thrive on helping others succeed.
After years of working alongside small business owners-and being one myself-I saw too many incredible local businesses getting overlooked. Honest, hardworking people were being drowned out by big ads, polished marketing, and companies with no real connection to the communities they served.
I started The Local Hub to bring the human back into business.
This isn’t about algorithms or hype. Its about trust, relationships, and real people behind the logos. Every business featured through The Local Hub is one I’ve taken the time to know-how they operate, how they treat customers, and how they show up for the community.
The Local Hub exists to:

One of the core ways The Local Hub builds real connection is through our Local Hub Community Mixers.
Unlike traditional networking events that are focused only on business owners, these mixers intentionally bring local businesses and community members together in the same room-creating real relationships, trust, and familiarity.
Community members get to meet the people behind the businesses they support, ask questions, and fell confident in who they’re working with. Business owners get the opportunity to connect directly with the community they serve-not just through ads or algorithms, but through genuine conversations.
These mixers are where relationships are built, partnerships grow, and community truly comes together.
