The Nest Daycare + Preschool LLC

When you meet Missy Barnes, one thing becomes obvious very quickly: she genuinely cares about families and her community.

Missy is a mom of five, a proud Mimi (G-Ma), wife, puppy lover, and PNW native who loves everything outdoors. Chasing sunsets and waterfalls is her happy place, fall is her favorite season, and she has a serious love for interior design. Her husband has learned that when he hears, “Baaabe, I have an idea!” something is probably about to happen. 😂

And that determination is exactly what helped build The Nest Daycare + Preschool LLC.

Missy provided childcare from her home for nearly 15 years while raising her own children. What began as caring for families from home eventually grew because Missy saw a real need in our community: families needed more access to dependable, quality childcare.

Instead of simply recognizing the need, Missy did something about it.

Today, she operates two childcare facilities, continuing the same mission she started all those years ago: providing quality care and supporting local families.

But what really impressed me about Missy goes far beyond her business.

Missy and I were in communication for more than a month before The Nest became a Local Hub partner, and I loved her get-up-and-go attitude from the beginning. She is a doer. She sees something that could help people and actually gets involved.

A perfect example is the community hygiene drive Missy organized. She reached out to The Local Hub Gives Back and asked if we would participate and help spread the word.

That spoke volumes to me.

She wasn’t asking what the community could do for her business. She was already doing something for the community and inviting others to join her.

That is exactly the kind of business owner I want representing The Local Hub.

🖤 LOCAL HUB SPECIAL🖤

The Nest is currently waiving its registration fee for families who register by August 31st!

Missy has also shared some of her hopes for what she would love to bring to our community someday, including a community center for teens. That one won me over. Our communities need more safe, supportive places where teens can belong, connect, and have people in their corner.

Missy is a team player, incredibly supportive of others, and someone with a genuine desire to make a difference. She’s built The Nest around caring for families, but her heart for the community reaches much further than the doors of her childcare facilities.

I have an enormous amount of respect for what Missy has already accomplished, and I think we’re going to see her do some pretty incredible things.

The Nest Daycare + Preschool LLC is exactly the kind of locally owned business The Local Hub is proud to stand behind. 🖤
